Provenance systems like C2PA mark what AI systems generate. ProofProfile answers the other half of the question: did this music exist before generative AI? The registry's evidence base is the pre-2022 AcousticBrainz/MusicBrainz corpus — recordings catalogued before modern generative music systems existed — bound by ISRC to blockchain registration records and independently timestamped on Bitcoin. Anyone can verify any record without trusting this site: hash the canonical record, check the Bitcoin block, confirm the CopyrightID on the chain explorer.

The artist count on this page is checkable rather than asserted. The closure manifest is a per-file SHA-256 census of every served artist artifact, taken on 2026-08-29 and matching the served bytes, and its OpenTimestamps attestation commits that census to Bitcoin. Each of the 41 chunk manifests carries its own SHA-256 in the root, so the census verifies end to end: hash a chunk manifest, check it against the root, and check the root against its attestation.

Censuses are versioned, and both are anchored. The 2026-08-09 census stays served at its dated path with its own attestation (Bitcoin block 961,779), and the current root names it, states why they differ — 141,032 artist records corrected on 2026-08-27, when a Wikipedia disambiguation list or redirect stub was removed from the description field of records that carried one — and commits to the file-by-file delta by hash. Every proof property in the corrected records — CopyrightID, OTS hash, Bitcoin block and canonical record — is unchanged. Each artist record carries its own Bitcoin attestation independently of any census, and that attestation, not the census, is the priority date.
